Statistics & Analytics Pro
Understand how visitors interact with your forms — from first view to final submission — with session-based, cookie-free analytics.
What It Tracks
Giraforms Analytics goes beyond simple submission counting. It tracks anonymous visitor sessions to give you a complete picture of the journey through your form:
| Event | What it means |
|---|---|
| View | A visitor loaded the page containing the form |
| Start | The visitor focused at least one field |
| Submit | The form was submitted successfully |
| Abandon | The visitor started filling the form but left without submitting |
sessionStorage and reset when the browser tab closes. No personal data is collected.
Accessing the Dashboard
Navigate to Forms → Analytics in the WordPress admin sidebar. The dashboard has two views depending on whether a form is selected.
Global view (no form selected)
Shows aggregated data across all your forms:
- Total submissions, average per day, active forms, unread count
- Submissions over time (line chart)
- Top forms by submission count (bar chart)
- Activity by day of week and by hour
Per-form view (form selected)
Selecting a form from the dropdown reveals session-based metrics at the top:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Views | Total sessions where the form was visible |
| Start rate | % of views where the visitor touched at least one field |
| Conversion rate | % of views that resulted in a successful submission |
| Submissions | Total successful submissions for the period |
| Avg / day | Average daily submissions for the selected period |
| Avg. completion time | Average time from first field focus to submission (shown once data is available) |
Field Completion Rate
Below the funnel, a bar chart shows the completion rate for each individual field — the percentage of started sessions where the field was filled in.
- Fields above 60% are shown in blue
- Fields below 60% are highlighted in orange to flag potential friction points
- Each bar shows the field label alongside its technical identifier
Completion Time
The average completion time is measured from the moment a visitor focuses their first field to the moment of submission. The timer:
- Pauses automatically when the browser tab is hidden
- Is capped at 30 minutes to exclude outliers (visitors who left the tab open for hours)
- Only appears once at least one submitted session includes a duration measurement
Period Filter
Use the period buttons at the top to filter all data — both submission charts and session-based metrics update together:
| Period | Data range |
|---|---|
| 7 days | Last 7 days |
| 30 days | Last 30 days (default) |
| 90 days | Last quarter |
| 1 year | Last 12 months |
| All time | All data since tracking began |
Navigating to Submissions
When a form is selected, a View submissions button appears in the header. It links directly to the submissions list filtered on that form, so you can jump from analytics to the actual entries in one click.
Exporting Data
When a form is selected, an Export CSV button is available. It exports submission counts by date for the selected period and form — useful for reporting in Excel or Google Sheets.
Settings
Enable or disable tracking
Go to Forms → Settings → Privacy and use the Disable analytics tracking globally checkbox to turn tracking off for all forms at once.
Data retention
Session data older than the configured limit is automatically deleted every night. The default is 90 days. You can change this under Settings → Privacy → Data retention.
| Option | Recommended for |
|---|---|
| 30 days | High-traffic sites or strict data minimisation |
| 90 days (default) | Most sites |
| 1 year | Sites that need long-term trend analysis |
| Keep forever | Not recommended — table grows indefinitely |
Deleting Analytics Data
Analytics session data can be deleted independently from your submissions:
- Per form: Select the form in the Analytics dashboard, then click Delete data for "…" at the bottom of the page.
- All forms: Go to Settings → Data Management and click Delete All Analytics Sessions.
